Law enforcement reports said Jack J. Brems, 34, drove his car through a perimeter security gate and onto a runway at Southwest Florida International Airport, driving near a Southwest Airlines plane that was taking off Tuesday night and under the wing of a USA 3000 aircraft preparing to depart.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort planning $25 million replacement for tram
A $25 million, 100-passenger tram will replace the famous bright red tram that has ferried skiers and sightseers to the top of Jackson Hole's Rendezvous Mountain for 40 years. The existing tram is being decommissioned Oct. 1 due to expected increases in maintenance costs to keep it operating safely.

Pair with passenger info, phones linked to terror
Investigators in southeast Ohio said they were working to unravel how two Michigan men charged with supporting terrorism came to have airplane passenger lists and airport security information. Osama Sabhi Abulhassan, 20, and Ali Houssaiky, 20, were being held on $200,000 bond each.

Delta posts $2.2 billion loss, turns profit on adjusted basis
With higher ticket prices and fuller planes driving up revenue, Delta Air Lines Inc. said it turned its first adjusted profit in nearly six years during the second quarter. The nation's third-largest carrier reported Wednesday that huge reorganization fees gave Delta a $2.21 billion net loss on paper, but Chief Financial Officer Ed Bastian described that as "pure bookkeeping."

Greektown Casino expansion plan approved by Michigan regulators
Tuesday's unanimous vote by the Michigan Gaming Control Board cleared the way for Greektown to begin construction of a 400-room hotel, a 3,100-space garage and an enclosed pedestrian walkway over Lafayette Boulevard connecting the buildings. The existing temporary casino will be expanded.
