Business flight across China leaves man stranded
|
As his plane began its descent, Eugene Nelson had a sinking feeling
that
something was wrong. He'd been in the air for hours, much longer than
his
business flight from Hong Kong to Taiwan should have taken. Instead of
descending toward the island off China's eastern coast, the next stop
would be
the remote city of Taiyuan, an industrial center deep within China.
Language
barriers and money trouble left the American businessman stranded for
days.

minded

good? I
thought so, so I signed up for seven days of sailing the Caribbean
during
easyCruise's first ever winter season to find out the real deal.

JetBlue's search for profits means shorter flights, higher faress
|
The outlook for most big airlines is pretty grim, with Delta Air Lines
and
Northwest Airlines in bankruptcy, and the rest unlikely to show a
profit in
2006. What has changed, though, is that investors now lump JetBlue
among the
lackluster. Analysts agree that JetBlue's problems stem from an
aggressive
expansion plan that has run into headwinds, such as high fuel prices,
fierce
competition and some bad decisions when choosing new markets.

Cool Paris bars for the hip and trendy
|
Despite the French capital's enviable status as both fashion kingpin
and the
world's most visited city, most watering-holes still fall into a few
uninspiring categories: dingy, insalubrious dives, chain-store looking
outfits
aimed at cautious tourists, or eye-wateringly expensive designer venues
where
you'll struggle to get past the snooty doormen. But where there's
pastis,
there's hope.
