Tribe wanted on Fijian isle
Two 26-year-old British entrepreneurs have set out to form what they're characterizing as a 5,000-member online "global tribe" to take up part-time residence on a palm-fringed Fijian island. The tribe is open to anyone 18 and up and thus far has 600 paying members.

Downhill slide ahead?
Spring snowpack levels in most of Colorado's ski counties could decrease by about 50% by 2085, according to a global warming study in April by Colorado College's "State of the Rockies" report. Warmer temperatures could have a big effect on resorts' ability to make snow in the fall.

In another 50 or so years, the world may be a much different place for wine aficionados, courtesy of global warming. Warming is already having major effects on wines, with more to come. In the short term, warmer temperatures have made for happier vintners, at least in Europe.

Pete Doherty searched for drugs following complaint from plane's captain
British rocker Pete Doherty was searched for drugs at a Barcelona airport Thursday, but was cleared to proceed after no drugs were found on his flight from London, authorities said. The airline said a syringe had been found in the bathroom, but authorities say they found no evidence of drug use.

Airline mixes up 2 boys headed in different directions
A boy flying to Indiana was surprised when he learned he had missed his flight because he had been sleeping at Chicago O'Hare. He was even more surprised when he learned another boy who was supposed to be flying to Taipei, Taiwan, via Tokyo, was in his seat aboard the South Bend flight.

Air marshal drops bullets, leaves plane
A U.S. air marshal removed himself from a Southwest Airlines flight Thursday after dropping a clip of bullets on the floor just before the plane was to take off, an airline spokeswoman said.
